50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Syrah, 4% Petite Sirah, and 2% Cabernet Franc
Why We Love this Wine:
This is a blend of 50 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 44 percent Syrah, 4 percent Petite Sirah, and 2 percent Cabernet Franc. The harvest occurred in the first weeks of September. This Napa Valley AVA wine is comprised of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah from Barrett Vineyards in Calistoga, Cabernet Franc from Oakville, and Petite Sirah from Amador. The wine was aged in 100 percent French oak barrels, 35 percent of which were new, for 20 months.
Sommelier Tasting Notes:
This enticing wine is deep ruby colored in the glass with aromas of dark plum, cassis, coffee, and milk chocolate. In the palate there are enticing flavors of black cherry, raspberry, and pomegranate with pleasantly grippy, mouth drying tannins. There are great savory notes in the finish with touches of dried thyme and sage before a bright splash of acidity in the back of your throat. Drink now through 2030.
