Vineyard: Beatty Ranch Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
Tasting Notes: Layered aromas comprised of cloves, Asian spices, eucalyptus and mint along with hints of raspberry and cassis. The finish accentuates these red fruit characteristics as well as the dark cherry along with the mountain tannins. This vineyard’s heritage traces back over 100 years and the cooler 2011 vintage shows characteristics reminiscent of Napa cabernets from another era. In its youth it takes about an hour to really open up, and should hit its peak in 5 to 10 years.
