Why We Love this Wine:
The 2016 vintage in Napa made for some plush wines that are unusually approachable at an early stage. Sodhani’s vineyards produce robust, high-quality fruit full of layers and complexity that usually take a few extra years to open up and show their vividness, but this one is already drinking beautifully. Rivers Brown cultivated an evenness among the various rows of vines that led to an elegant balance in this wine.
Sommelier Tasting Notes:
Seductive spice notes of nutmeg and sandalwood lead on the nose of this wine, merging with floral undertones. Taste it and you’ll find blackberry compote along with baking spices. It’s a deep, intense wine with a lot of energy, but also a “regal balance,” as Rivers-Brown says. The finish is sleek and clean.
