Overshine Wine Co. is one of Sonoma's most thoughtfully run boutique producers — committed to sustainability, single-vineyard specificity, and a distinctly inclusive approach to wine culture. The Maple Vineyard is one of the crown jewels of Dry Creek Valley: 27 acres of head-trained Zinfandel on high bench land, the oldest block dating to 1910. Farmed without irrigation by David Rafanelli using the same labor-intensive traditional methods as generations before, these old vines are pushed to their limits before harvest — small berries, concentrated flavors, and a natural link to the history of California winemaking. Shorty's Block is a specific, limited selection from within that legendary site.
TASTING NOTES
Brambleberry, black currant, cocoa powder, and a hint of cedar define the aromatic profile. On the palate, rich dark fruit concentration balances with the firm structure and natural acidity you expect from old-vine, dry-farmed Zin. A wine with genuine depth and a finish that lingers — the kind of Zinfandel that earns its place at the table.
